New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions, Do you make them?

New Year

The New Year is upon us and this is traditionally the time that everyone makes new years resolutions. It’s a good concept, but how many really succeed?  People don’t because they are not committed to them or they haven’t truly bought into the idea of what they want. Too many times people make resolutions based on other people’s expectations for them and not for themselves.

It’s important for you to define what you want and discover what will make you happy. That is where a life coach can help. Sometimes all it takes is a little coaching to get you started on your journey of self-discovery and happiness. For some it’s simply about getting your life back, especially if you have suffered a tragic loss like I did in 2005 when my former husband Steve died by suicide. I also suffered another sudden loss in 2018 when my latest husband Dr. Gerald Chodak died in our home. We are all in different places on our journey and it’s important to keep moving toward your goals and desires.

What are your resolutions?

Have you thought about what you want in the coming year? Have you thought about how you want your life to be in the next year or two? What are your desires? What brings you happiness? Can you answer these questions?  If you haven’t thought about it now is the time.

The tragedies and traumas from our past can often hinder us. We know that we can’t change what has happened to us, so why do we spend so much time trying to go back into those pages of our story? If we move forward we can achieve what we desire in our future.

Do you need a nudge?

Remember, success is always achievable but you must commit to it. Once you do you will find that amazing things begin to happen. Every choice you make has a consequence and every one you fail to make does too. Are you making those that keep you stuck? Or will they move you forward? I hope so! This is the time where you are given a blank slate. You can paint the picture of what you want your life to look like in the future. If you have followed my Facebook, Twitter , Instagram or Blog, you know that my message is about moving forward and finding the inner peace that dwells within each one of us.white canvas

Think of the new year as a big white canvas that belongs to you.  You have the opportunity to fill it in with whatever you want.  Of course it needs to be realistic.  Once you define it, it is possible to start the process.  If you do it, by the end of the year you will have a beautiful painted canvas of what you created in your way with your terms.  What a wonderful opportunity!

I wish all of you reading this a healthy, happy, prosperous new year!  Remember you have the power to choose!
